PEACE-Air Partners Meet in Letterkenny

A two-day partner meeting of the PEACE-Air project took place on 15 & 16 of January at CoLab, on the ATU Donegal campus in Letterkenny, bringing together partners from across Ireland and Northern Ireland to advance collaboration on improving air quality and protecting public health.
Day one focused on strategic alignment and project planning, with partners working through a full agenda covering governance, delivery structures and upcoming activities. Discussions centred on the shared objectives of the all-island initiative and the role of evidence-based policy, innovation and cross-border cooperation in addressing air quality challenges. The meeting built momentum towards the official launch of the project, scheduled for the following day.
Day two placed a strong emphasis on collaboration and practical exchange. Partners participated in targeted breakout sessions exploring citizen science approaches, socio-economic scoping and mapping, environmental health networking, and the development of continuing professional development opportunities. These sessions enabled partners to share expertise, identify common challenges and strengthen the foundations for effective joint working.
The meeting concluded with the official launch of the PEACE-Air project, marking an important milestone and setting a clear direction for the work ahead. Partners expressed confidence in the collaborative framework established over the two days and looked ahead to building on this momentum as the project progresses. The PEACE-Air project is supported by the PEACEPLUS Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.
